International Schools
These schools have sprung up like mushrooms in the past ten years are now open to Malaysians where previously they were only allowed to enroll expat children. The new international schools are a response to the rapid outer-suburban growth with housing developers including these in the new subdivisions. The emergent middle class has also created a demand for an alternative to the national system so these schools are mix of locals and expats form across the global, but largely north Asia. These schools teach in English and are well equipped and resourced with many of the staff from overseas, although the number of local teachers increases annually.
